Mental Health Awareness Week 2019
This week is Mental Health Awareness week. Since May 2001, The Mental Health Foundation has campaigned around a specific theme for Mental Health Awareness Week to illuminate a variety of essential topics.
This year’s theme is body image.
The Mental Health Foundation found that “30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. That’s almost 1 in every 3 people.”
Body Image can influence our day to day lives irrespective of age, race, gender or sexuality.
So while every week should be mental health week, we particularly encourage you to reach out to someone and discuss your mental health and support local mental health charities.
